الملخص
استعرض هذا البحث موقف صلاح الدين البيطار من الانقلابات العسكرية التي شهدتها سوريا عام 1949، وسلط الضوء على طريقة تعامله مع الأحداث والمواقف السياسية التي برزت في أثر هذه الانقلابات، وأسباب اتخاذه تلك المواقف، وجهوده التي بذلها في توحيد القوى السياسية السورية للاطاحة بحكومة اديب الشيشكلي عام 1954 ، وتوصل البحث إلى عدد من النتائج ابرزها أن صلاح الدين البيطار كان يرفض فكرة الانقلابات العسكرية لأنها لا تحقق طموحات الشعب السوري، وأنه كان يعارض تدخل المؤسسة العسكرية في الشؤون السياسية حتى لا تنشغل بالصراعات السياسية، ولتتفرغ لأداء واجباتها في مجال عملها فقط، كما عارض فكرة استعمال القوة لتغيير الانظمة الحاكمة.

Salah Al-Din Al-Bitar’s Position about the Military Coups in Syria 1949

Abstract
This research revealed Salah al-Din al-Bitar’s position on the military coups in Syria in 1949, and shed light on the way he dealt with events and political positions that emerged as a result of these coups, and the reasons for taking those positions.The research sheds light on his efforts in unifying the Syrian political forces against the government of Adib al-Shishakli in 1954.The most prominent findings he reached are: that Salah al-Din al-Bitar rejected the idea of military coups because they did not fulfill the aspirations of the Syrian people. He opposed the military institution’s interference in political affairs to keep it away from political conflicts and to devote itself to performing its duties only.Opposition to the use of force to change the ruling regimes
