يعُد الوجود مبحثاً اساسياً من مباحث الفلسفة العامة وعلى هذا الاساس يشمل النظر في طبيعة الوجود و يكون مطلقا اي مجرداً عن كل تعيين او تحديد تاركاً للعلوم الجزئية البحث في الوجود من بعض نواحيه فالعلوم الالهية تبحث في الوجود من حيث ما يدل على وجوده و العلوم الطبيعية من خلال هذه الرؤية تبحث في الوجود من حيث هو جسم متغير والرياضة تبحث في الوجود من حيث هو كم او مقدار .
