Abstract
Languages are butter and bread of communication among people. Studying languages and their genres are worth researching to know their roots, points of similarities, differences and shared constructions.The current paper is concerned with the role of the written translator in translating the shared terms and constructions of sport genre in political genre of English language into Arabic.I selected ten different examples taken from six sub-genres of Sport genre: (Baseball, Basketball, Football, Boxing, Ice Hockey and Running) whose functions are shared with the political genres. Besides, I chose ten graduate translators to translate the samples given to them so as to analyze their translations. The hypothesis of the current paper is as follows: it is expected that translators’ success are lower in comparison with the rate of failure with reference tothe translation of shared terms and construction of sport genre in political genre of English language into Arabic successfully.The researcher adopted an eclectic model of translation analysis based on Foreignization and Domestication combined by Appraisal theory. The results verified the hypothesis because the rate of success is lower than the rate of failure.

الملخص
تعد اللغات الوسيلة الرئيسة للتواصل بين بني البشر. ولذلك, فان دراسة اللغات وانواعها تستحق البحث لمعرفة اصلها واوجه التشابه والاختلاف والعناصر المشتركة بينهم. يعنى البحث الحالي بدور المترجم التحريري في ترجمة المفردات المشتركة بين لغة الرياضية والسياسية من الانكليزية الى العربية. واخترت عشر امثلة مأخوذة من ستة فروع من لغة الرياضة : (كرة القاعدة و وكرة السلة وكرة القدم والملاكمة وهوكي الجليد والعدو) اذ تعد الفروع المذكورة انفا مشتركة مع لغة السياسة . وحددت عشر مترجمين متخرجين ليكونوا مشاركين في ترجمات الامثلة. ويفترض البحث الحالي ان نسبة نجاح المترجمين في ترجمة المفردات الرياضية المشتركة مع لغة السياسة من الانكليزية الى العربية اقل من نسبة الفشل. واعتمد الباحث الية تحليل انتقائية تستند الى الية التغريب والتدجين مدمجة مع نظرية التخمين. واثبتت النتائج صحة الفرضية اذ ان نسبة النجاح اقل من نسبة الفشل.
