الملخص
عرف العرب فنوناً نثرية كثيرة عبر العصور كالخطابة والمقامة والرسالة وغيرها … ولم تحظ تلك الفنون بمكانة الشعر حتى وقت قريب، وتعد الرواية أحدث نوع نثري عرفه العرب ومع الاختلاف في تحديد هوية نشأتها، استطاعت الرواية أن تجعل لنفسها مكانة مهمة بين الفنون، حتى أصبحت في العصر الحديث الجنس الأدبي الأثير لدى القرّاء.
وقد مرت الرواية منذ نشأتها بمراحل متعددة، واكبت فيها الواقع العربي والمتغيرات الاجتماعية والسياسية، وتمكنت من استيعاب تلك المتغيرات ونقلها وتصويرها، فحظيت الرواية بشعبية كبيرة، لتأثيرها على المتلقي وقدرتها على التعبير عن متطلبات الإنسان المعاصر وهمومه؛ لذا كان لابد من العناية بدراستها وإيلاء الاهتمام بتاريخها وتطوّرها.
وكان للأديب العربي دور في تطور فن الرواية في العصر الحديث، فعمل البحث على رصد التجديد في الرواية العربية، عبر تأثرها بالمذاهب الأدبية التي تبناها الكاتب الروائي، ووجد لها دوراً في تحديث الرواية، فتحدثنا عن أهم التقنيات والأساليب التي استخدمها الكتّاب في الرواية العربية، تلك الأساليب التي أسهمت في تطويرها فضلاً على إضاءة علاقة الرواية العربية الحديثة بالنقد الأدبي.

Abstract
The Arabs knew many prose arts throughout the ages, such as rhetoric, recitation, the message, and others… These arts did not have the status of poetry until recently, and the novel is the latest type of prose known to the Arabs. In the modern era, the most popular literary genre among readers.
Since its inception, the novel has gone through multiple stages, in which it kept pace with the Arab reality and the social and political variables, and was able to absorb, transfer and depict these variables. Therefore, care must be taken to study it and pay attention to its history and development.
And the Arab writer had a role in the development of the art of the novel in the modern era, so the research worked to monitor the renewal in the Arabic novel, through its influence on the literary doctrines adopted by the novelist writer, and found a role for it in modernizing the novel, so we talked about the most important techniques and methods that writers used in the Arabic novel, those The methods that contributed to its development, as well as illuminating the relationship of the modern Arabic novel with literary criticism.
