The Role of Animation in Promoting the Skills of the English Language

Abstract
This research exploits the effectiveness of employing animations pictures on pupils’ mastery of the skills of English at fourth stage . The research adopts the following assumptions :- the use of animation in teaching promotes and develops the skills of language . The effect of animation is quite different in relation to gender . It is also assumed that there is a correlation between pupils’ general proficiency in the English Language and the mastery of the four skills . The sample of the study consists of (98) pupils at fourth stage , taken from Al-Nasiriya secondary school . Two units from the fourth grade secondary school were chosen to be taught by using animations technique .The sample of the exam is distributed into dominant and testing group . The testing group were taught by using animations technique and computer , while people in the dominant group were taught by the traditional way . The conclusions showed the existence of crucial discrepancies in the achievement rates of the two groups as far as the matter of the English language is concerned , because of the use of animation technique . In addition to that there are crucial discrepancies in pupils’ performance in relation to gender , girls get marks higher than those of boys .
